About the Painting
This WWII painting pays tribute to the tremendous sacrifice your loved one has made to our great nation in the fight for the preservation of freedom. This lithographic print will forever preserve the contribution your family name has made during the most challenging times our country has faced. The painting celebrates images of General Douglas MacArthur in his glorious return to the Philippine Islands fulfilling his pledge, “I shall return”. Painted to the upper right are the Marines raising the flag at Iwo Jima. The right foreground depicts the might of the United States Navy. The center left of the painting is a GI soldier handing a little girl a piece of chocolate in return for a red rose, symbolizing eternal peace. Below the soldier is a tribute to the men who served in the Army Airborne Division. The children ghosted in the background of the painting are a constant reminder of the sacrifice our soldiers have made for the existence of Democracy for generations to come…
