Featured along the River Thames are the House of Parliament, Westminster Bridge, and the clock commonly referred to as Big Ben. Big Ben is actually a 15-ton bell that tolls the hours. The Roman numerals on the clock face measure 2 feet in length: the hour hand, 14 feet and the mechanism moving the hands is still wound manually. In the distance just right is Buckingham Palace, the official London residence of Britain's sovereigns since 1837.
